AERONET – Dr. Pawan Gupta Visit

Dr. Pawan Gupta, Senior Earth Scientist, visited CSTEP and delivered a talk titled “Air Quality Monitoring and Forecasting: A Hybrid Approach.” During the session, he provided description about the AERONET network, ground-based air quality monitoring systems, and the integration of observational data into air quality modeling and forecasting frameworks.

Following the talk, Dr. Gupta was given a tour of the Indi-SET facility and laboratory, where the working principles and operation of advanced monitoring instruments were demonstrated. The visit concluded with discussions on air quality forecasting, crop residue burning measurements, key challenges in air quality monitoring, and opportunities for expanding the AERONET network.
